Our Story

Sixteen years into marriage, we sat across from eachother talking seriously about divorce.  We weren't yelling or arguing.  This was a discussion between two tired individuals wanting more.  Neither of us at the time could see our relationship becoming the marriage we both desperately wanted.

For 15 years, our marriage looked “good” on the outside.
But under the surface it was dull, disconnected, and slowly losing its life. We loved each other, but there was little desire, little intimacy, and certainly no spark.

So about three years ago, we found ourselves asking the question we never thought we'd ask: "Should we get divorced?"

Thankfully, instead of calling it quits right then and walking away, we decided to give it one last shot and go all-in. We chose to pause. To look inward. To do the hard and uncomfortable work, individually and together.

Pretty quickly after going all-in on the marriage, something that we didn't expect happened. Our relationship didn’t just improve. It came alive.  We slowly learned how to heal old wounds, communicate differently, rebuild trust, and create safety.

Today, our relationship is more intimate, connected, and full of desire than we ever thought was possible. The connection between us feels vibrant, alive, and constantly evolving. Nothing like the stagnant energy we lived in for so many years.

Deeply Intimate was born from this journey.

If your marriage feels stuck, numb, or “fine” but empty... there is hope.

Love doesn’t have to fade away. It can grow. It can breathe. It can come back to life.

Everything we teach, write about, coach, and share comes from the lessons we learned while rebuilding our own marriage. We don't claim to have all the answers, and we certainly aren't perfect. We're still constantly growing and healing.

But today we have something we once believed was impossible:

A marriage built on radical honesty and complete trust, creating a relationship safe enough for both of us to thrive as individuals as we're also pouring energy into our marriage.

Connection is now the default, and intimacy continues to deepen because we never stop growing.

If our journey has taught us anything, it's this:

Deep intimacy begins with two courageous choices:  to truly understand your partner, and to honestly know yourself.

This is the beautiful, ongoing story behind Deeply Intimate.

And it's the story we are honored to help others begin writing for themselves.
